The commodity desk

Eight commodity requirements, coordinated from Singapore. Read our buyer guide for origin, specifications, packing and documents. Send your quantity and destination. Images are illustrative.

Focused procurement guides: milling wheat · rice.

Fertilizers & chemicals

Fertilizer and chemical input programmes begin with product identity, nutrient analysis or purity, physical form, intended use and supplier safety documents. Packing and transport follow the identified material.

Agricultural commodities

Explore wheat, maize, rice, chickpeas, lentils, white sugar and soybean meal. Origins, grades, packing and shipment terms are confirmed for the proposed transaction. Singapore is our coordination base, not a production-origin claim.

Industrial & textile inputs

Industrial limestone and other mineral enquiries are led by assay, sizing and intended use. For textile inputs, specify composition, supplied form, dimensions or count, finish and intended process.

Milling wheat

Application: Wheat for flour-milling enquiries, with the intended flour application, origin and crop year defined for the proposed transaction.

Buyer checklist: Wheat type; origin and crop year; protein and reporting basis; moisture; test weight; damaged kernels and foreign matter; sampling and analysis requirements.

Packing & transport: Discuss bags or a suitable bulk arrangement, cargo-space cleanliness, moisture protection, lot identification and discharge equipment. Include loading region, destination and shipping period; package weights, payloads and routing are confirmed per transaction.

Maize

Application: Maize enquiries for food, feed or processing use. State the intended application and buyer acceptance criteria before comparing offers.

Buyer checklist: Kernel type or colour; origin; moisture; broken or damaged kernels; foreign matter; required contaminant testing and lot documents. Food and feed requirements are not interchangeable.

Packing & transport: Request a bagged or bulk proposal and describe the buyer’s unloading system. Discuss protection from wetting and contamination, inspection arrangements and the origin/destination ports. Storage and carriage requirements follow the identified product.

Rice

Application: Rice enquiries defined by commercial type and presentation, including milled or parboiled requirements for the intended market.

Buyer checklist: Variety or type; milled/parboiled form; grain classification; broken-kernel requirement; moisture; defects and foreign matter; crop year, origin and labelling needs.

Packing & transport: Discuss clean, securely closed food-suitable sacks and any liner, pallet or labelling requirement. Packing should protect quality through the expected journey and storage period. Confirm pack weights, loading quantities, destination and discharge arrangements with the offer.

Chickpeas

Application: Chickpeas for human-food enquiries, with commercial type, whole or split presentation and the intended application clearly identified.

Buyer checklist: Type; origin and crop year; size; whole/split form; moisture; damaged seeds and foreign matter; inspection documents.

Packing & transport: Discuss clean, robust, securely closed sacks, lot identification and package presentation. Include destination, planned storage period and discharge method so moisture criteria and handling arrangements can be considered for the journey.

Lentils

Application: Lentil enquiries shaped by colour, commercial type and whole or split form for the intended food market.

Buyer checklist: Type and colour; whole/split form; origin and crop year; size; moisture; defect and foreign-matter criteria; required documents.

Packing & transport: Discuss suitable food sacks, secure closures and lot marking. Confirm protection against contamination and unwanted moisture, with packaging appropriate to transport, storage and the buyer’s receiving process. Include destination and requested shipping period.

White sugar

Application: White sugar for requirements defined by the buyer’s food-manufacturing application and requested quality measures.

Buyer checklist: Sugar type; origin; polarisation; colour and its test method; moisture; ash; required lot and analysis documents.

Packing & transport: Discuss food-suitable bags or another product-appropriate format, including liner, closure and lot marking. Assess moisture protection, cleanliness and loading/discharge arrangements separately for bagged and bulk proposals. Exact packing and route follow the transaction.

Soybean meal

Application: A feed ingredient produced after removal of much of the oil from soybeans. Define the feed application and analysis basis when comparing material.

Buyer checklist: Origin and extraction process; crude protein and reporting basis; moisture; fibre; residual oil; required amino-acid, processing-quality or contaminant tests; lot documents.

Packing & transport: Review supplier cargo information before agreeing bagged or bulk transport. Extraction method and residual oil/moisture affect the carriage assessment. Request cargo declarations and applicable test documents for carrier review; do not assume one classification for all soybean meal.

Industrial limestone

Application: Industrial limestone enquiries matched to chemistry, sizing and intended process. Raw stone and finely ground filler requirements should be distinguished.

Buyer checklist: Application and supplied form; calcium-carbonate assay; relevant magnesium, silica or other impurity limits; particle-size distribution; moisture; origin and analysis documents.

Packing & transport: Discuss bulk stone, bags or flexible bulk bags only where suitable for the form and receiving equipment. Request supplier safety information and agree dust, spillage and contamination controls. Terminal acceptance, parcel size and loading/discharge arrangements are confirmed per shipment.
